This platform has been created and designed to connect all nurses and midwives whether you are a student, graduate or experienced nurse/midwife. #NuMiVerse will inform, educate, share, innovate, inspire, educate, empower and support you in your journey within your profession. #NuMiVerse will dive deep into the professions, on topics and details that are known and unknown to us, and relevant to us nationally and internationally or from home to abroad.
Why now?
The profession has changed significantly throughout the decades and is on the cusp of evolving into something great… or not… depending on how we as nurses and midwives choose to keep the professions vibrant, relevant and noticeable of our value to the healthcare systems.
#NuMiVerse will provide discussion topics to stimulate your thoughts, confirm your thinking/beliefs/experience, provide you with tools to help build your career, ways to help you manage your work-life balance, notes to thrive in your current position, opportunities to connect with like-minded inspirational thinkers. The goal is to ultimately impact on healthcare and how we respond to our population needs. This is an evidence informed information platform, so it combines the evidence of decades of experience from myself and guests on the platform with published articles and research that will support the information shared.
#NuMiVerse will create the space to enlighten the relevant issues within the professions. It will use the lived experiences of nurses and midwives (novice to expert), evidence, research reports/articles, informed guests and on the ground experience and knowledge from the professionals. Guests will be invited to share tips and tools on professional development, personal growth, personal health and wellness, insights to inspire you and confirm what you believe to be true and opportunities to share new information from global nursing and midwifery vistas.
#NuMiVerse will highlight and discuss up to date topics to ignite ideas and solutions for selfmanagement, professional and personal growth within the professions.
As nurses and midwives we are so close to the care of the population and have the solutions to many of the healthcare challenges, however, the part of our professional innovation and creativity is overlooked for several reasons, one of which is fear. #NuMiVerse will talk about the professional issues that bother you, that don’t get talked about because of fear – fear of criticism, fear of being unsure and fear of negatively affecting your career progression.
#NuMiVerse is autonomous and free to discuss your biggest problems that need solving and possible solutions you may have.
#NuMiVerse will use LinkedIn because it is where professionals are encouraged to network, learn and connect to each other. #NuMiVerse will listen, hear and speak on all things including that which cannot be spoken about.
Publications will be uploaded every 2 weeks; on the 14th and 28th of the month. The reading time required will range from a short version of 5-7 minutes to a longer version of 10-12 minutes.
